Assistant Communication Officer, Bill Eekhof says the Naloxone is a lot like an epi pen. It will stabilize someone who overdosed until paramedics arrive.
Eekhof is hoping to get the Naloxone Kit to Haliburton as soon as possible.
Northumberland County is the first community within the health units’ region to use the Naloxone Kit Distribution Program.
Eekhof is hoping that the program will be at the Haliburton Health Unit in the near future.
