Minden Hills is moving forward on a plan to install a bronze statue of Andre Lapine to the cultural centre. Lapine is a Canadian painter mostly known for his horse, landscape, and portrait paintings. He moved to Minden around 1940, and the cultural centre has around 100 of his pieces.
The life-size bronze statue is costing more than $28,000, and so far around $23,000 has been secured through grants. Another grant application is out to cover the rest of the cost.
