Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock’s M.P.P. is pleading with the Ontario Energy Board to dismiss a hydro rate increase.
Laurie Scott and Conservative Leader Patrick Brown dropped off many letters from concerned families to the O.E.B. regarding potential rate increases.
Scott says if you are concerned about power rates going up, write to her office and the O.E.B.
Energy Minister Glenn Thibeault said last week the O.E.B. makes the decisions on rates, not the government.
Scott feels if the government can introduce legislation cutting hydro rates, then they can influence the O.E.B. to not raise electricity bills.
