Laurie Scott continues to raise awareness of human trafficking around the province.
The Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock M.P.P. recently hosted an awareness event on the crime in Kingston.
Scott says a common theme is pointed out at her human trafficking awareness events.
Scott anti-human trafficking bill was passed in Queen’s Park in May after being introduced two years ago.

Bill 96 allows victims of human trafficking to apply for restraining orders against their traffickers, and victims to sue their traffickers for damages.
She says she is encouraged by progress being made to fight the crime.
Scott adds she will continue to host awareness events around the province.
