The Township of Algonquin Highlands is having a special council meeting Saturday morning.
It will be to discuss the township’s official plan, which Mayor Carol Moffatt calls the road plan for municipalities.
According to the Ontario Planning Act, official plans must be reviewed and updated every five years.
A municipality or township’s official plan covers issues like housing, environmental management and zoning laws.
