Police confirm plane crash at Stanhope Airport

Haliburton Highlands OPP has confirmed the plane crash that happened at the Stanhope Airport around 11 o’clock this morning.

They say the plane was trying to land when it skidded off the runway and overturned into a ravine. There were three people in the plane, and none of them were injured. The plane sustained severe damage.

 

Haliburton County EMS, Algonquin Highlands Fire, and OPP responded to the call.

The plane took off from St. George, Quebec earlier this morning and was coming to Haliburton County to pick up a camper.

The OPP and Transport Canada are investigating.
