HKPR launches another quit smoking program

A new chance for you to quit smoking is coming up, and it’s completely free.

Our local health unit, along with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is offering the S.T.O.P (Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients) program.

It gives you free resources and five weeks of nicotine patches, which are proven to be successful. Health Promoter Jennifer Valcamp says the use of patches over nicotine replacement therapy can more than double your chances of becoming smoke-free. You can call the health unit to find out if you’re eligible. The one-day program is in Haliburton County September 30th, October 21st, and November 25th.

You can contact the health unit at 1-866-888-4577 to find out if you’re eligible.
