Highland Yard charitable run returns this weekend

MINDEN HILLS, ON – An annual run to support housing is ready to kick off.

Places for People’s annual Highland Yard run is scheduled for this Sunday at the Minden River Cone.

According to the organizers, the annual run is designed to raise money for Places for People and their efforts housing those in need.

Each year the housing organization hosts the run as their primary fundraising event. Places for People says that 95 percent of the money raised through the run goes to purchasing, renovating and maintaining housing in Haliburton County.

Although the run is an annual affair, Places for People announced last month that the run is going to have two new age groups, seven to nine and 70 plus.

There are a number of ways for individuals to get involved, they can register and run in the race, they can volunteer their efforts to put on the run, or they can make a donation to the cause.

If you are wanting to run the Highland Yard, the on-site registration is happening tomorrow from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. And Sunday from 7:15 am to 8:00 am with the first run starting at 9:00 am.
