Our local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is teaching residents how to be suicide alert. Health Promoter and Educator Jack Veitch says their goal is to create suicide safe communities.
Veitch says they want as many people as possible alert to the signs of suicide.
The training also includes information about local resources so people who are certified know where to refer people struggling with thoughts of suicide.
Veitch says anyone can sign up to take the course happening next week on Wednesday December 9th in Minden.
