The Walker’s and Heating Haliburton Highlands Health Team Highland Storm Peewee AE’s were in pastHumphery Saturday for a doubleheader against the Muskoka Rock A team. In game one Brendan Coumbs scored the only goal for the Storm in a 6-1 loss.  Goalie Bella Smolen was outstanding between the pipes.Game 2 was a penalty filled affair that saw Muskoka win 9-0. Elsewhere The Dollo’s Foodland and Smolen’s Dentistry Highland Storm Midget A team were host to two games on a three game weekend. The festivities started off Friday night in Minden against Almaguin in a tight checking, even affair ending in a 2-2 tie with Jacob Haedicke and Matt Manning scoring. Saturday they hosted league leading Parry Sound Shamrocks in Minden, for the first of a home and home weekend series, which ended in a lop-sided 7-0 loss.Sunday the Storm returned the favour, for their first regular season win of the year, beating the Shamrocks 4-2 with 2 goals by Jayden Wood, one by Nolan Flood and the empty netter by recent pick up Payden Miscio.

 

This past weekend the Timber Mart Novice Highland Storm hosted the Walt Mckechnie Tournament at the A.J LaRue arena. The tournament was a big success with teams from across the region attending and the Novices won the C final. Meanwhile  The Emmerson Lumber Atom team had back to back games against the Huntsville Otters. Saturday the Atom team hosted the Huntsville Otters at the S.G Nesbitt Arena, it was an evenly played match with the Otters edging the Storm 5-3 scoring for the Storm were  Austin Boylan with 2 and  Kyan Hall added the single. On Sunday in Huntsville. Austin Boylan scored the only goal in an 11-1 loss.

 

Over this past weekend the Joanne Sharpleys Source for Sports Highland Storm Peewee A’s competed in the annual regional silver stick tournament held in Pembroke and came home  Champions. The Storm’s Joe Boice was the top point getter  registering  ten goals and five assists in six games.
