Highland Storm weekend wrap-up November 13 – November 15, 2015

The Dollo’s Foodland and Smolen’s Dentistry Highland Storm Midget A team had a busy weekend with 3 games. Friday night they kicked it off at home against the Huntsville Otters, it was close through the first two periods but the Otters pulled ahead in the for a 7-2 win. Saturday afternoon the Storm Midgets were in Bracebridge down 3-0 after two but battled back in the third with two goals by Chris Thompson coming up short 3-2.  The Midgets finished the weekend in Penetang losing a penalty filled effort 6-1. Chris Thompson finished the weekend with 3 of the Storm’s 5 goals. Meanwhile    On Friday, , the Tom Prentice and Sons / RM Carpentry Highland Storm Tyke team travelled to Gravenhurst to play the South Muskoka Bears.  The Storm dominated play from the beginning of the game for a 4-1 win, with goals from Connor Byrne, Jace Mills, Liam Harrison and Vanek Logan

 

The Emmerson Lumber Highland Storm Atom team travelled to Bracebridge to play  the South Muskoka Bears yesterday. The Bears came away with a 12-1 win over the Storm, Nathan Harrison scored for the Atoms  Meanwhile the Timber Mart Novice Highland Storm were in action Saturday against the Port Carling Muskoka Rocks. A hotly contested game  saw the Storm lose 4-2 with goals from Kadin Card and Colby Coumbs. On Sunday the novices played in Bracebridge against the Bears. Beckam Reynolds opened the scoring ,Cheyenne Degeer added 2 more for the 3-2 win.

 

The Highland Storm Peppermill Bantam A team were in  Campbellford for a tournament this past weekend and in the opening match they beat their host 2-0. The Storm ended up in the finals where they beat the Napanee Stars 4-3 for the tournament championship. The Storms Shawn Walker was the tournament MVP. Elsewhere on Friday the Joanne Sharpleys source for Sports Highland Storm Peewee A’s were in Bracebridge where they thumped the Bears 9-0, Team captain Alex little had a hat trick and four. Joe Boice had five points. Tyson Clements had four and Dylan Keefer had three points.  Darian Maddock earned the shutout
