Highland Storm weekend wrap-up December 4-6, 2015

The Timber Mart Novice Highland Storm were tournament finalist this past weekend in Port Carling.  In game 1 the Storm beat  Grand Valley 4-1 and game 2 saw the novices come back from a 4-1 deficit to tie the  Stayner Cyclones 6-6 . The A finals was a tough 7-3 loss to the Muskoka Rocks. Mak Prentice was the MVP.

Elsewhere, the Tom Prentice and Sons / RM Carpentry Highland Storm Tyke team played in the Woodville Tyke tournament.   The first game of the day was a 9-0 win over Woodville Parker Simms was the game MVP.    In their second game of the tournament, against Brock the Storm tykes came out with a 6-2 win . Jace Mills who notched  a hat trick was MVP.  The championship game against Barrie was an 11 – 4 win and the Storm tykes were the Champs. Connor Byrne was game MVP.

 

The Dollo’s Foodland and Smolen’s Dentistry Highland Storm Midget A team were in Pembroke on the weekend for the Midget Regional Silver Stick Tournament. Their division was incredibly evenly matched with the Storm finishing the first two games in ties and the final game ended in 2-1 loss to knock them out. Top scorer was Jayden Wood with a goal and 3 helpers.

The Walkers Heating and Haliburton Health Team Highland Storm Peewee AE’s were in Gravenhurst for two games against the South Muskoka Bears over the weekend. Game 1 ended in a 5 all tie, the Storms Tyler Martin notched a hatrick , Kolby McGovern and Brendan Coumbs added singles. Game 2 was close but the Peewee AE’s won it 5-4.  Sam Hoenow , Owen Harrison Zach Davis, Tyler Martin and Kolby McGovern’s all scored for the Storm.
