OPP release details of mail truck collision

The cause of a Canada Post mail truck going off the road was a deer.

Haliburton Highlands OPP is confirming the details about yesterday’s single vehicle collision on Kashagawigamog Lake Road.

Police say the female driver swerved to miss a deer, and went into the ditch. The vehicle hit a tree and sustained severe damage. As a result, the driver was trapped in the vehicle.

Dysart fire crews were able to remove her and she was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

OPP say charges will not be laid.
