There will not be a full Ironman event in Huntsville this summer. The event was announced cancelled for this year and next year as the town does not see the event profitable. Huntsville Mayor Scott Aitchison announced they lost $100,000 last year in their first of a three-year deal. He says he met with the organizers and managed to terminate the contract. He says they will be hosting the 70.3 half Ironman event on a one-year deal.
