Places for People are renovating a new house in Minden. The not for profit organization purchase homes in the county, fixes them up and offers them for low rent to families in need. They have a home in Haliburton and another in Carnarvon and are working on their third. Organizer and President Max Ward says they are accepting applications from families until the end of the month. The group is holding a fundraiser bowl-a-thon at the Fast Lane in Minden on February 8, and invite you to participate in building castles for kids.
