Haliburton Health Unit may have to review their board of directors to make sure they have certain skill sets after a northern health unit got into trouble last year.
Algoma Public Health went under the microscope after improprieties at the agency forced the minister of health to order a review.
The review now has a consultant suggesting that the health unit board of directors have to have certain skill sets.
The mayor of Elliot Lake, Dan Marchisella opposes this.
Marchisella thinks that if the health unit needs people specialized in accounting or law, then they should hire them but these people should not be directors.
