The landfill along Little Hawk Lake Road has five years left until the Algonquin Highlands municipality will have to shut it down.
According to a report from council the site has the remaining capacity of 2,600 metres.
Even though the landfill will close, there will be a large expansion of the township landfill near Maple Lake.
