Haliburton Highlands OPP say distracted driving is the number one factor in road deaths.

This March break is the third year that police have ran the Distracted Driving Campaign.

Police say 69 people died last year because the driver was distracted, which is more than double the number of impaired driving chargers they laid.

Official say cell phone use isn’t the only thing that causes distraction; they also lay charges every year for eating, self-grooming, and tending to kids in the back seat.
