Cell towers and night sky policies clash

The municipality of Dysart will try to get answers for Little Kennisis lake property owners. They are concerned with a proposed 80 metre tall Bell cell tower being installed in the area. They want better cell coverage but don’t want it to interfere with the night sky. The municipality agreed to send a letter to the contractor building the tower to see if a 40 metre monopine tower would offer the same coverage or if the proposed 80 metre tower could be moved back so it can’t be seen from across the lake. Reeve Fearrey did point out that municipalities have no jurisdiction in cell tower installations.
