Poverty Reduction Strategy For Haliburton County

Twenty-three per cent of children in Haliburton County come from low-income households according to Ontario Early Years Centre.

Coordinator Aaron Mulcaster presented a report on the poverty reduction strategy for the county on March 23rd.

Mulcaster says he wants council to expand the nutrition program in the community.

He says in 2015, 170,000 meals were served by Food for Kids at county schools.
