The Toronto City Council has passed a motion supporting MPP Laurie Scott’s initiative against human trafficking.
Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP says she is pleased to see different levels of government come together to raise awareness of necessary steps in tacking this issue.
She noted that traffickers recruit and control girls for sexual exploitation or forced labour.
Scott says Toronto City Council’s motion endorses steps that the Liberal Government can take now to combat labour and sex trafficking.
