This is the third and final year of the Turtle Monitoring in Haliburton County.
The Haliburton Highlands Land Trust Program Coordinator Heather Deveaux says this year they are monitoring the barriers they put up on Gelert Road to see if it’s preventing turtles from getting onto the road.
Deveaux says the barriers have helped significantly.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering can attend a training session on April 14th.
