Councillors of Algonquin Highlands will start renovating the municipal office soon.

They approved $512,000 in the 2016 budget for the construction of the new office addition and renovations.

Council members say the lowest bid was the Maram Building Corporation which is $64,000 over their original budget.

Treasurer, Tammy McKelvey says some savings will be realized in other areas.

Council says the township will repay the balance in four years.

They want residents to know that council meetings and services will be challenging, but the renovations will be done by August 31st.
