Twenty lakes will soon be stocked with 30,000 lake and rainbow trout.

The volunteers from the Haliburton Highlands Outdoor Association’s Hatchery will be stocking area lakes for the next two weeks.

Chair of the Hatchery Bruce Miller says some of the fish were the product of an egg collection in fall 2014.

He says this is a real labour of love by the volunteers who work hard to give back to the community.

He says since 1998, the hatchery has stocked over 600,000 fish in area lakes.
