The Reeve of Minden Hills Brent Devolin wants to develop a better program to thank volunteers in the community.
Community Services Director Mark Coleman says for the past two years, it has been a struggle getting even one nominee for the current awards they have.
Coleman suggests creating an art and culture award, as well as a sports and recreation award.
He is hoping to start planning the event as soon as possible.
