Officials urge people to seek medical attention if they have symptoms of Lyme disease because it can be treated with antibiotics.
They suggest wearing light-coloured clothing to avoid bites.
Last year, the health unit collected 17 blacklegged ticks positive with the bacteria that cause Lyme disease.
