Long arm of the law catches up to driver 11 and a half years after original offense

The long arm of the law has caught up with an Ottawa man. On Sunday, Haliburton OPP was notified by the Ottawa Police Service they’d arrested a man in relation to an outstanding warrant in Haliburton County.  The 50 year old was originally arrested in August 2002 by Minden Hills OPP for impaired driving.  He failed to appear in court in September 2003 for that charge. Then in July 2010 he was arrested again in Kemptville on the same warrant but again failed to appear in court.  On Sunday almost 11 ½ years after the original offence, he was charged but this time he didn’t get a court date. He was taken to the Central East Correctional Facility Centre in Lindsay. Now he’s also charged with failing to attend court.
