Haliburton County’s insurance policy renewal is costly. According to the Haliburton Echo, the policy for 2014-2015 is going up $45,000 to nearly $225,000. Two significant claims shown on the history of losses are fueling it. This means the carrier has set up significant reserves for the potential losses which has increased the county’s liability premium this year. The claims were discussed in a closed session earlier this month.
