Minden Hills Cultural Centre wants to honour artist Lapine

Minden Hills Cultural Centre has the largest collection of Andre Lapine works in the world.

Lapine was a painter who lived in Minden Hills.

Director of Community Services Mark Coleman wants a bronze statue to be made to honour the artist.

Coleman says the cultural centre committee wants to complete this project by next year, in time for Canada’s 150^th birthday.

He says they discussed this project 8 years ago.

Coleman hopes to have the project finished in 2017
