Residents in Highlands East are being asked to use less water

The municipality of Highlands East is being asked to use 10 per cent less water.

The Crowe Valley Conservation Authority has made the request after declaring a Low Water Level One condition in the area.

The conservation authority says the precipitation in the area has been less than the historical three month average.

Ways residents can reduce their water use include not watering lawns, fixing leaky faucets, taking shorter showers, and not washing our cars and driveways.

Low Water Conditions have three levels, and the region is only being affected by the lowest warning level.
