OPP says The Grandparent Scam has affected over 700 people so far, reporting a loss of more than 2.4 million dollars.

The scam, mainly targeting seniors, involves fraudsters posing as a family or friend in need. They convince the victim to transfer money or provide personal banking information.

Police believe there are more victims, but people are reluctant to come forward. They are asking anyone with information to contact your local police service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
