Disaster prep not necessary for spring melt

While you may be itching for warmer weather, Chief of Emergency Services, Craig Jones says cooler temperatures are allowing for a slow melt.

According to a watershed report released Mar. 12, water levels across the Haliburton Reservoirs are below normal. It also stated the Gull River system currently has enough storage capacity to absorb the snow melt. Jones says he does not feel disaster preparation is necessary.

The County of Haliburton will continue to update their Flood Preparation page on their website for more information.
