Our local health unit is encouraging schools to help students get a taste for healthy eating.

The Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge District Health Unit says the new BrightBites program helps boost school nutrition efforts.

Officials say the program has tools, resources, and success stories to guide and inspire schools to create an environment that supports healthy foods and eating.

The health unit BrightBites is curriculum-friendly because it aligns with Ontario’s Foundation for a Healthy School framework.
