A 35 year-old man has died and a 40 year-old woman is in hospital after their snowmobile hit a tree shortly after midnight on Mar.23.
Haliburton OPP responded to a call at 6:50 a.m. on Allen Lake in Harcourt Park. Blackrock resident Kevin Ferguson was driving when the snowmobile struck a tree and he succumbed to his injuries. Tamara Mothersill was airlifted to a Toronto area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police are investigating whether speed and alcohol may have been a factor.
