Our local health unit is asking you to roll up your sleeves to get a flu shot

Flu season is near, and our local health unit is urging residents to get their flu shots.

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit says vaccines are one of the most effective ways to stay healthy.

Officials say shots are available at no-charge, and recommends anyone six months of age and older gets the vaccine every fall.

Flu shots are available at local pharmacies in Haliburton County.

The health unit is also having a family-friendly flu clinic on November 9^th.

It’s for families with children under five-years-old.
