Council says smoke and carbon monoxide alarms now require a strobe function. This is to assist those with hearing impairments. Officials say new combination units are now available with all these functions. They say the units will be hard to find on the shelves right now. You can ask our local hardware stores to stock them. This will help create more awareness too.
