The Township of Minden Hills is helping residents prepare for the spring thaw. The township has made sand available for public use. The self-serve supply is located at the S.G. Nesbitt Community Centre on 55 Parkside Street.
While no flood warnings have been issued yet, Algonquin Highlands Reeve Carol Moffat says the county is working on a flood contingency plan to ensure information reaches residents in a timely manner.
