Haliburton’s Winterdance Dogsled Tours wants you to know its dogs are loved, and well-treated.
Owner Tanya McCready says a new documentary called SledDogs takes a look into the world of the sledding industry. McCready says the film takes the bad apples in the industry and makes it seem like everyone is like that. She is worried because the filmmaker is going to schools and showing people her film.
McCready says in one day two schools cancelled close to $100,000 in dogsledding contracts because of the documentary.
McCready says there are people in mushing who shouldn’t be, and if her film only portrayed them she would support it. She says her dogs are loved, live with her, and receive nothing but the best of care.
