Minden Hills Cultural Centre Reconsiders Possible Gazebo

The Minden Hills Cultural Centre wants to get two tents instead of a gazebo now.

This would be through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund grant, which supports investments in infrastructure projects by giving grants to municipalities.

Director of Community Services Mark Coleman says the committee saw photos of the proposed gazebo with an edited photo of the museum grounds. Coleman says the structure is too high and blocks the heritage buildings.

He says red and white striped tents would be ideal because they are more flexible with programming. Coleman says the style of the tents also falls in with the 1900 time period.

He will be presenting the Municipality of Minden Hills with the ideas this Thursday.
