Taxes for commercial and industrial properties in Haliburton aren’t getting any lower. Council was looking at lowering the taxes for next year, but Treasurer Elaine Taylor says that is unlikely to bring in new businesses. She says out of 89 municipalities reviewed, Haliburton is already in the bottom nine. She also notes if those taxes were lowered to residential rates, the burden would fall on homeowners shoulders.
