Two local non-profits are getting a financial boost from the province. Abbey Gardens is on the receiving end of $30,000, which will go to its equine assisted learning program. The goal is to encourage youth and adults to support a healthy and sustainable environment. The YWCA Peterborough-Haliburton is also getting a boost, to the tune of $700,000 dollars. The money will go into creating a program that focuses on cooking nutritional food, while helping low-income residents meet their basic needs.
