This Warm Weather is Putting A Damper on Skaters

Warm weather is holding up the opening of outdoor skating rinks in Haliburton. Both the Stanhope and Dorset rinks are still closed because of the mild winter. However,  Dorset’s Manager of Parks and Recreation Andrew Wilbee says if the weather cooperates, he will work on the skating oval in Head Lake Park and Head Lake’s Rink over the next couple of weeks. Environment Canada is predicting the temperature will hover around the minus one-degree mark during the day over the next couple of days, but that could dip down to as low as minus 13 overnight later on this week.
