Haliburton County is raising red flags about a provincial plan to create new art and culture events. The province has created what it calls a Culture Strategy, with the goal of promoting Canada’s diverse society. In order to do that, the government is calling on our local library and art council to create new events to raise awareness. However, the problem comes down to cash. Council says the Culture Strategy is important, but they can’t do it without funding. Council is now sending a letter onto the province asking for some cash to put the plan into action.
