Two new summer programs for kids and families in Algonquin Highlands could be on the way. Parks, Recreation and Trails Manager Chris Card is asking council for $3,000 to start up cooking classes for kids and family movie nights. Card plans to run the programs from July to August in the Stanhope Firefighters’ Community Hall. If council approves the cost, Card will be recruiting volunteers and will start the planning and promotion. The cost will be discussed in the next budget meeting.
