The amount of fire calls in Minden Hills for February is up by 5 compared to last year. According to a recent report submitted to council from the fire department, this push is due to six calls classified as other. Other can mean a number of different incidents including gas leaks, water rescue or lightning strike-related issues.
The report shows in February of 2016 there were no calls listed in the other category. Calls for fires or medical issues were both down from last February.
