The Haliburton Highlands OPP says over the past week, there have been 18 collisions with wildlife. The majority are deer, but one crash was with a bear. The OPP says now that the weather is starting to turn, more animals will be out by the roadside. If you see a deer on the road, don’t try and veer around it. Slow down, honk your horn, and wait until it moves on. Wildlife is generally more active at dawn and dusk.
