Break out your best purple shirts, ribbons, and nail polish for a good cause this weekend. Purple Day is this Sunday, which raises awareness for epilepsy.
Local woman Geri Woudstra is spearheading the plan to paint the Highlands purple, in support of her daughter Katie, who has epilepsy. Woudstra is also the creator of Katie’s Run, which has raised over $100,000 in the last five years. March is Epilepsy Awareness, and the 26th is Purple Day.
Businesses can take part by decorating the office and collecting donations, and everyone can enter a photo contest to win a spot in this summer’s Katie Run, or a $50 Ultimate Dining Card. Check out the details on the Katie’s Run Facebook page.
