A necessary road rehabilitation in Minden Hills is going to cost a lot more than originally expected

Minden Hills is going to have to put off a few projects in order to pay for a major road overhaul. The town has found the rehabilitation project on Peck Street is going to cost a lot more than what it originally thought.

Town officials had budgeted just over $200,000 for the project, but bids from contractors are coming in at nearly $200,000 more or higher. According to town officials the issue was with the original report from a consulting engineer.

Council has agreed that the town needs to move forward with contractor Royal Paving at a cost of $370,000 to get this project started.
