Scott’s Private Members Bill for sexual assault law training for judges getting support at Queen’s Park

Laurie Scott is getting some support at Queen’s Park for her push for mandatory sexual assault law training for judges. Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norm Miller is backing the Private Members Bill tabled by the MPP for Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock.

Miller says he was shocked to hear over half of sexual assault reports in Muskoka never made it court because they’re deemed unfounded by the OPP. He says sexual assault isn’t a partisan issue, and is pushing the government to back the idea.
