Minden getting some funding for forest access roads

Forest access is going to get a bit easier in Minden. The province is increasing its funding for the construction and maintenance of forest access roads by $20 million this year. Part of that money is going into the Minden and Bancroft areas.

The government says it will help resource-based businesses in the area, like the forest industry, mining companies, tourism operators, and railway companies. Ministry of Natural Resource and Forestry officials also say these roads are a key part of the infrastructure for emergency preparedness and response.

Over 13-hundred kilometres of local road infrastructure in eastern Ontario will be built and maintained.
